Getting through each day of this public health emergency is not easy for anyone. There are children missing their friends, teachers, and their routines at school. There are parents who are struggling to work their essential job and also homeschool their children. There are people who are not able to work, and do not have money coming in to pay their bills. There are essential employees who must go to work, putting themselves more at-risk due to their daily interactions with the public. There are people who haven’t been able to hug their family members since before this started. There are people who have not been able to attend a loved one’s funeral because social gatherings are not safe right now. There are vulnerable people who are afraid they will get this virus and not be able to fight it off. There are people who are afraid that they will lose their loved ones to COVID-19. And there are people fighting COVID-19 through no fault of their own.

Everyone is struggling in their own way. This is a time to be kind, be considerate, be helpful, and be part of the solution. This means staying on top of the latest recommendations from public health and community leaders. It means doing your best to protect the health of everyone in our community by following these recommendations. It means checking in on your neighbors. It means supporting local businesses. It means offering to grocery shop for someone who can’t go out in public. It means being supportive of others, including the people suffering with COVID-19 and the essential employees who are working hard to help us all. It means even if you do not agree with the way things are right now, you stay out of the way of people who are working hard to slow the spread.

A kind gesture and words of encouragement can really help people who are struggling. We want to thank our residents for all of the positive things you are doing each and every day. Please feel free to give a Shout Out in the comments to someone who did something that helped you or brightened your day, or tell us what you did to lift someone’s spirits. Positive Mind. Positive Vibes. Positive Life.
