Madison County Office of Emergency Management will be distributing hand sanitizer at town halls and highway garages for residents.  Additional dates, times and locations will be added. 

Tuesday, April 28, 2020
o   10am - 12pm: Smithfield – Highway Garage
o   1pm -3pm: Fenner – Town Hall/Highway
Wednesday, April 29, 2020
o   10am - 12pm: Nelson – Town Hall/ Highway
Thursday, April 30, 2020

o   1pm - 3pm: Lebanon – Town Hall/Highway
Friday, May 1, 2020
o   1pm - 3pm: Sullivan – Fyler Road Middle School

Distribution will be set up in a drive thru fashion. Residents should remain in their car and wear a face covering to receive a small bag of sanitizers for their personal use. Staff involved in the distribution process will be wearing face coverings, as well.

The County’s COVID-19 maps are valuable tools that have been widely discussed and shared since the pandemic reached Madison County. The Madison County Planning Department uses Geographic Information System (GIS) software to map the locations of positive COVID-19 cases by municipality (city, town, and village). As the County began to see more and more positive cases recover from illness, another map was developed that provides residents with a more accurate view of current infections. With the GIS software, the Planning Department is able to confirm that addresses of positive cases are indeed within Madison County, which can be tricky along county borders. The County hopes the maps have proven informative and effective for Madison County’s residents.

The Madison County Board of Supervisors has restarted holding committee meetings.  Yesterday, the Criminal Justice, Public Safety and Emergency Communications Committee hosted their meeting via Zoom.  The public is able to watch these meetings live on the Madison County YouTube Channel. 

It is wonderful that we live in this age of technology where we can still communicate and conduct business all while maintaining social distance.
